Many people know Shui Xian by one of its variants, as “Narcissus”. But some believe that the name of the tea is more correctly translated as “Prayer to the Immortals,” and this is not just that. According to history, during the Qing Dynasty, tea was prepared from the leaves of a tea bush discovered at the entrance to a cave called “the place of prayer for the immortals.”
Shui Xian is a dark, highly fermented oolong made from the leaves of old tea bushes. These large leaves give a unique taste and aroma. The drink is strong but soft with hints of nuts, chocolate and wood. The brown-amber infusion produces a pleasant, warm aroma, wrapped in notes of flowers and nuts.
Just like many other oolongs, Shui Xian is considered very beneficial for digestion, it removes toxins and cleanses the body. Tea has a warming and relaxing effect. It can be enjoyed both during the day and in the evening to recharge your energy and find a state of peace.
